Interesting Quote: Chloe Moretz

"I'm actually not looking at the original. Even though De Palma's movie was one of the best movies ever made. It's completely iconic, and I'm proud to be able to be doing a retooling of it. We're kind of going off the book. It's darker and much more psychological. More Black Swan. You're really looking into her mind, and it really looks into the relationship of Margaret and Carrie. It's set in modern time, so it's a lot different."

Chloƫ Moretz is on the Top of the list to play Carrie

The Carrie remake is on it's way and it looks like they are closing in on the main role. ChloĆ« Moretz is on top of the list.

She has the acting chops and she's very entertaining to watch. The crazy mother may be played by Jodie Foster; and we all know this woman can play a role!

Maybe this film could be something to watch after all? I'll keep you posted.

Meet the new Carrie Bradshaw

The prequel series to "Sex and The City" is happening (whether we like it or not). "The Carrie Diaries" set to premier on the CW next fall and they got their Carrie.

Her name is AnnaSophia Robb, the teenage Carrie Bradshaw.

This series will explore Carrie's life before the madness and fashion of NYC. Oh, and she has a sister, I didn't know Carrie had a sister.

I wonder if they treat it like Buffy's sister Dawn? I guess we'll see.

Carrie: The Musical is back

In 1988, 'Carrie: The Musical' hit the stage and bombed badly, but now it back. In fact, it opens in March. I so want to see it.

I'm very close to buying my ticket for NYC now!

A 'Carrie' Remake is coming and a Director may be attached

I talked about the Carrie remake last year and... Well, it's happening and a director may be attached.

Deadline has the scoop:
Kimberly Peirce is in talks to direct Carrie, the remake of the Stephen King thriller about the telekinetic teenager who gets pushed too far at the prom and wreaks havoc on her fellow high school students. Peirce is best known for helming another troubled female coming-of-age tragedy, the Hilary Swank-starrer Boys Don’t Cry. Carrie was previously turned into the 1976 film that starred Sissy Spacek, John Travolta and Amy Irving, with Piper Laurie as the repressive mother.

The script has been written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, whose rewrite work helped save Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway. Aguirre-Sacasa set out to write a version of Carrie that is more faithful to the King book, and more grounded than the Brian De Palma-directed film. That kind of grounded material is something Peirce does well. She last directed Stop-Loss and is repped at CAA.
As I said before, Roberto is a good writer.  I trust him and Kimberly's 'Boys Don't Cry' was a great film, so perhaps this remake has hope.

Interesting Quote: Stephen King

"I've heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. ... Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, [it's] not Casablanca or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White ... hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg."
Stephen doesn't know why there's a remake to 'Carrie'

Comic Book Writer takes on Spider-Man on Broadway, 'Glee' and a 'Carrie' Remake

Comic Book writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will get to spread out his talents very soon. One of his opportunities is rewriting the Broadway madness, Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, then he will be a co-producer and writer of 'Glee' (maybe he can save that mess) and then... He may be writing the remake of 'Carrie'!

CARRIE!

I had to clutch my pearls on that one. However, Roberto is a good writer. I enjoyed his work on the Nighcrawler comic, so it's in good hands. But it's 'Carrie'; I LOVE Carrie! I hated the TV remake in the early 2000s and I heard the Broadway version was horrid. But I have faith in Roberto. I'm sure he will make it right.
