The Log Cabin Republicans' President will support Anti-Gay GOP Candidates

Just when I think people couldn't be anymore stupid, Rob Schlein gives me something new. The LCR President writes this foolish piece that clearly defines his self-hatred

Here is an example:
For those who are upset at Rick Perry’s decision to sign the National Organization of Marriage’s pledge to move forward on an amendment to the Constitution, I say I’m willing to pay that price — a danger, in my view, that is as exaggerated as the reported threat of Hurricane Irene — in exchange for fiscal conservatism that is more likely to win the day and return us to prosperity.
After all, the process for amending the Constitution of the United States is so burdensome and so difficult, it seems to me the pledge to NOM is as empty as most men’s promises to stay monogamous until “death do us part.”

That said, I don’t believe that Rick Perry is our party’s best hope to beat Obama.

In the swing states that really matter — Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania — Mitt Romney, who has never been a great friend of Log Cabin’s, polls better. He’s one of them, and his dad was a very, very popular Michigan governor.

And if Jon Huntsman can organize some support he would be a brilliant choice, too.
But, we don’t get to decide in isolation who our nominee will be. By the time the candidates reach Texas, we will likely have our winner.

And, if that winner is Rick Perry, he can count on my vote and my vocal support.
Rob, please realize how frakked up this is. These people would make us suffer and you would still vote for them?

Are you that daft and self-hating?

The Log Cabin Republicans' Goal is to get rid of Obama

Bob Kabel

These fools are a double dipped mess. The LCR claim that their main goal is to oust Obama in 2012. As if any of their candidates we will be their best buddy in the next four years.

Raw Story has the scoop
Despite the fact that Obama pushed for a repeal of the controversial military policy known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and ordered the U.S. Justice Department to stop defending a key section of the Defense of Marriage Act, former LCR national board chairman Bob Kabel told Newsmax the president was "a real disappointment."

“I, frankly, was one who really believed that perhaps we were at a moment in history where his sort of optimism and sort of self-stated ability to bring people together would actually make a difference," he said.

"But what we've seen in the execution during his administration has really been very disappointing – it's actually the opposite. He's extraordinarily partisan, he's extraordinarily liberal, he's really made very little effort, if any, to bring certainly Republicans and more conservative people together to resolve the nation's issues."

Kabel warned that the Republican Party needed to avoid social issues and instead focus on the economy if they wanted to defeat Obama in 2012.
Well guess what, Bob? The GOP is going head on with social issues this year. Maybe if you and your confused pals get a clue, you will realize that Obama is your best bet. Their cause just don't make sense. They want to defeat Obama so they can have a bigot in the White House?

Question of the Day: LGBT Rights Edition

The Log Cabin Republicans are stepping up to the plate with DADT and other LGBT issues, but are you ready to trust them?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

DOJ Response to Log Cabin Republicans suit against DADT

From The Advocate:
The Department of Justice issued a request Thursday to a U.S. district court judge asking to keep enforcing the military's ban on gay and lesbian service members, challenging a request to stop its enforcement.
In a 14-page brief, Justice Department attorneys argued a permanent injunction against enforcing the 17-year-old law —one supported by Log Cabin Republicans, which challenged DADT in federal court —would be "untenable."
"[A]ny injunction in this case must be limited to plaintiff LCR and the claims it asserts on behalf of its members – and cannot extend to non-parties – plaintiff’s requested  world-wide injunction of the statute fails as a threshold matter," assistant U.S. attorney Paul Freeborne wrote.
Freeborne also argued that an injunction would preclude the government both from litigating other legal challenges to DADT or considering the terms of a stay barring discharges of gay and lesbian servicemembers.

Here's the brief
