Syfy orders Script for DC Comic Book 'Booster Gold'

Syfy takes a dip in the DC Universe to possibly give us a Booster Gold series. The Hollywood Reporter has more on this story:

The story will center on Booster Gold, a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back to the present in hopes of becoming the greatest super hero of all time. Instead of chasing criminals, however, his main priority is chasing fame and money.

But Booster Gold discovers that being a hero takes more than just a megawatt smile, and that the future doesn’t happen without first protecting the present.

The comic book character made an appearance in the 10th and final season of the CW's Smallville, where it gained still more fans.
But will BG draw in viewers? I'm not convinced that B-list heroes can draw huge ratings. But anything is possible I guess.

First Look: SyFy's Alphas

This is by the creators of X-Men Last Stand, so I'm skeptical about it. Hopefully, this is good.

New Spinoff: Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome

Another BG spinoff is coming your way. It's called Blood & Chrome and SyFy just greenlit it.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, a sentient robotic race, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a brash rookie viper pilot enters the fray. Ensign William Adama, barely in his 20’s and a recent Academy graduate, finds himself assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet… the Galactica. The talented but hot-headed risk-taker soon finds himself leading a dangerous top secret mission that, if successful, will turn the tide of the decade long war in favor of the desperate fleet.

“The ‘Galactica’ universe as re-imagined by Ron Moore and David Eick is rich with possibilities and backstory,” said Mark Stern. “We jumped at the chance to revisit the William Adama character and explore this exciting chapter in the BSG narrative which falls between the events of the original series and the prequel, ‘Caprica,’ currently airing on Syfy.”

We will see how this goes because 'Caprica' hasn't been tearing down the ratings' walls.
