With this new reboot of DC Comics, we will see different sides of our favorite heroes. But my favorite one (Wonder Woman), is really moving in a different direction.
For one, it's going to be a horror comic as writer Brian Azzarello tells it:
So how will DC's new beginning affect him and how he'll handle Wonder Woman? "I can only speak for myself, were doing a soft reboot, we're not getting rid of her history or anything like that."
He then adds, with a little reassurance and a laugh: "People need to relax, she's not wearing pants. But it's not going to be a superhero book. I can guarantee you that, it's not a superhero book. It's a horror book."Then, Grant Morrison said in his run of WW will bring sex to the forefront:
“You can take the violence out of the original concept of Superman- all the drop-kicking bad guys into the ocean, which would basically kill them anyway,” said Morrison, “or you can take the gun out of early Batman, and these characters remain essentially the same. But you can’t take the sex out of Wonder Woman. That version of the character died with Marston in the 1940s and she hasn’t recovered her popularity since.
“Superman’s meant to be this ultimate expression of masculinity and he still gets to be sexual. Wonder Woman’s meant to be the ultimate expression of womanhood and yet she isn’t allowed anything to do with sex.”Okay, I guess we will see how this goes.
