Brian Brown claims Chick-Fil-A is a Victim of Economic Bullying - LISTEN

The funny thing is, they can threaten Starbucks and other companies, but when we do it...
child please.

Interesting Quote: Brian Brown

But something is wrong when huge companies push gay marriage into children's literature in order to make money. Something is wrong when a comic book store decides to host a wedding, again for commercial purposes. And something is really wrong when a man proposes because, well, somebody else is going to help pay for the wedding and it might mean a cool trip to New York City.

Somewhere there may be some foolish man and woman getting married in a comic book store. But nobody else is paying for it and nobody in the media is covering it.

Are we really supposed to believe in the "sanctity" of gay comic book weddings?

The promotion of gay marriage continues apace.

NOM's Brian Brown is really for Battle, Dan Savage

Brian Brown has accepted Dan Savage challenge and took it to NOM's blog to talk about it
Dan -- I accept and will look forward to debating you at your dining room table. As I said in my challenge to you, anytime, any place.

While I appreciate the invitation that you have extended to my wife, she will not be able to attend. She is a full-time mom with seven beautiful children and an eighth on the way.

I have no objection to Mark Oppenheimer from the New York Times covering the discussion, nor to you hiring your own video crew to film the event, provided that I am able to hire my own video crew to be sure there is no creative editing of the discussion.

Not that a New York Times reporter would slant the news, mind you! :)
This will be crazy!

NOM's Brian Brown challenges Dan Savage to a Bible Duel

There might be smoke in city! Brian Brown has challenged Dan to a duel of Bible wits. In their latest newsletter, Brian throws down the gantlet.
Let me lay down a public challenge to Dan Savage right here and now: You want to savage the Bible? Christian morality? Traditional marriage? Pope Benedict? I'm here, you name the time and the place and let's see what a big man you are in a debate with someone who can talk back. It's easy to make high-school girls cry by picking on them. Let's pick on someone our own size!

I'm here, any time, any place you name, Dan Savage. You will find out out how venal and ridiculous your views of these things are if you dare to accept a challenge.
This could be epic. I would love to these uber-egos go at it. Hell, it could lead to something sexual, you never know.

NOM wants a Federal Investigation of the HRC and the IRS

Continuing their case for losing battles, NOM now wants a federal investigation of the HRC and the IRS for their "leak" tax info.

Here's Brian Brown whining on their website:
"It appears that someone with either the IRS or the HRC may have committed a federal crime by illegally obtaining and then releasing a confidential tax return of the National Organization for Marriage," said Brian Brown, NOM's president. "It's clear that the tax return was stolen, either from NOM or from the government. The Huffington Post article says that HRC claimed they received the document from a ‘whistleblower.' But the term ‘whistleblower' is completely inapt. We're talking about a criminal who has stolen confidential tax return information. We demand to know who this criminal is, whether they work for the HRC or the IRS, and how they obtained confidential tax information filed only with the US government."

It is illegal for a government official or employee to make use of or publicly release a taxpayer's tax return. The form 990 Schedule B is submitted by nonprofit groups to the IRS and includes information on donor identity, including name, address and contribution amount. While federal law requires that nonprofit groups make their form 990 filings available for public inspection, the law provides that Schedule B information—the name and address of the contributor—is redacted, leaving only the amount given and the date of the donation as publicly-available information. Here, the un-redacted Schedule B was somehow obtained by the HRC. That information could only have come from the IRS itself, or have been stolen from NOM.

"I would like to know what the HRC knew and when did they know it," Brown said. "It certainly appears that either the HRC was involved in illegally obtaining this tax return themselves, or they worked with a criminal who stole it from NOM or the IRS. Either way, it appears that a federal crime may have been committed."
Child, please! Y'all are busted, get over it.

What? NOM supports Civil Unions?

In New Hampshire, NOM is supporting civil unions... Am I high of something, because this sounds fishy as a Malibu Barbie.

This is from their press release:
The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) today urged the New Hampshire legislature to pass HB 437, compromise legislation to restore civil unions for same-sex couples, and repeal same-sex marriage while protecting couples who have already been "married." The bill's author, Rep. David Bates, has said he will offer an amendment letting voters have the final say on the legislation through a statewide referendum vote.

"Gay billionaires like Tim Gill forced same-sex marriage on the state in 2009 without voters having any say," said Brian Brown, NOM's president. "We urge the legislature to adopt this compromise bill and let the voters have the final say."
Interesting and stupid, NOM.

Interesting Quote: Brian Brown

"We are excited to finally begin this referendum petition drive and look forward to working alongside Preserve Marriage Washington to collect the required signatures to put marriage on the ballot. We are confident that voters will have a chance to vote on redefining marriage, and they will reject it, just as voters in 31 other states have done."

He's excited to be a bigot, isn't he?

Interesting Quote: Brian Brown

"Democrats in the New Jersey Assembly today walked off a cliff when they decided to redefine marriage to accommodate the political demands of same-sex couples," said Brian Brown, NOM's president. "They have ensured themselves of the united opposition of people of faith when they next face voters. We are grateful to have a principled Governor in Chris Christie who has pledged to veto this legislation."

The New Jersey state Assembly passed legislation to redefine marriage by the narrowest of margins, 41-33. It would take 54 votes to override Governor Christie's promised veto.

NOM has spent significant funds on New Jersey elections in prior years and pledged to oppose legislators who supported redefining marriage.

"Redefining marriage is not going to happen in New Jersey," Brown said. "NOM will join with the community of faith and all conservatives to ensure that every legislator who voted to kick God's definition of marriage to the curb pays the ultimate political price when they face voters. We will not forget this betrayal of marriage."

Whatever, Brian.

NOM is Not Happy about the Prop 8 Ruling

Y'all knew NOM's evil asses was going to be pissed about the ruling today. On their website, they had plenty to whine about.

Brian Brown:
“As sweeping and wrong-headed as this decision is, it nonetheless was as predictable as the outcome of a Harlem Globetrotters exhibition game,” said Brian Brown, NOM’s president. “We have anticipated this outcome since the moment San Francisco Judge Vaughn Walker’s first hearing in the case. Now we have the field cleared to take this issue to the US Supreme Court, where we have every confidence we will prevail.”
John Eastman, the chairman of NOM:

“Never before has a federal appeals court – or any federal court for that matter – found a right to gay marriage under the US Constitution,” said constitutional scholar John Eastman, who is chairman of NOM. “The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is the most overturned circuit in the country, and Judge Stephen Reinhardt, the author of today’s absurd ruling is the most overturned federal judge in America. Today’s ruling is a perfect setup for this case to be taken by the US Supreme Court, where I am confident it will be reversed. This issue is the Roe v Wade of the current generation, and I sincerely doubt the Court has the stomach for preempting the policy judgments of the states on such a contentious matter, knowing the lingering harm it caused by that ruling.”

Stop your crying, bitches!

Herman Cain: 'I would overturn the Supreme Court if they overturned DOMA’ - VIDEO

Herman Cain continues his one man sh*t show in these debates. Last night, he said he would overturn the Supreme Court if they overturned DOMA...

The real gag is no one else had anything to say. NOM's bloated Ken doll should have realized that gay marriage is not the candidates' main issue.

Interesting Quote: Brian Brown

But you and I have always fought together under the banner of truth. Together, truth and love will prevail, as Maggie says. Not Truth without the love of God and our neighbor in our hearts. Nor a Love which is afraid to speak truth for fear of being labeled a bigot or a hater by those who wield scorn and hatred as a weapon to suppress the truth and those who speak it.

They win by making us afraid to speak and to act for marriage in the public square.
They can only win if they can get us to accept and internalize the second-class status they propose for us. To accept our own marginalization, to be quiet, to stand down and keep our heads down. To live in fear, instead of acting, with courage, out of hope.
Brian thinks Crazy ass Christians are Second-Class citizens

Pic of the Week: NOM's Brian Brown

This is Brian after New York won marriage equality. This is Priceless!
Brian Brown, the President of the anti-marriage equality National Organization for Marriage, sat in the galley openly weeping with sadness when the 33 to 29 vote was announced. (The bulk of the galley erupted spontaneously in chants of "USA, USA, USA", and even some members of the press couldn't keep themselves from clapping and cheering.)
Love it
