Mike Huckabee declares "Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day”

Mike Huckabee wants to support and protect Chick-Fil-A from us mean people. So he has created "Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day.”

There's even a Facebook page for this:

I ask you to join me in speaking out on Wednesday, August 1 "Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day.” No one is being asked to make signs, speeches, or openly demonstrate. The goal is simple: Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1. Too often, those on the left make corporate statements to show support for same sex marriage, abortion, or profanity, but if Christians affirm traditional values, we're considered homophobic, fundamentalists, hate-mongers, and intolerant.

This effort is not being launched by the Chick Fil-A company and no one from the company or family is involved in proposing or promoting it.

There's no need for anyone to be angry or engage in a verbal battle. Simply affirm appreciation for a company run by Christian principles by showing up on Wednesday, August 1 or by participating online – tweeting your support or sending a message on Facebook.
I'll tweet my support... against them and their broke chicken sandwiches. I'll stick to Long John Silvers.

Maggie Gallagher wants Mike Huckabee as Romney's VP

Lord, Maggie Mess thinks that Huckabee would be a great VP for Romney. I guess that old White image is needed in the GOP.

Here is why she thinks he's a winner
Huckabee fits the bill perfectly. He not a guy to scare anyone, he's run the presidential gauntlet and been fully vetted, and while a pleasant and interesting man, he is a familiar enough figure on the national scene not to outshine Mitt Romney with novelty.

Several others on the shortlist also satisfy these minimal requirements.
But Huckabee would do something else for Romney -- something I don't think any other person can do: shore up the evangelical base of the party and ignite genuine enthusiasm for getting Romney/Huckabee to the White House.

It's not just Huckabee's style or political positions that would do this. It's the relationship of trust and love he's built with evangelicals and connections to evangelicals across the country. He is beloved. He can motivate.

And Romney needs this.
Girl, that's not good enough, try again.

Mike Huckabee ain't running for President

Big surprise (NOT)

Mike Hucklebuck won't run for President.

From Fox News
"All the factors say go, but my heart says no," Huckabee, who was considered the GOP frontrunner in several national polls, said on his Fox News Channel show.

In the end, Huckabee decided that he didn't want to abandon the media empire that he has built since his failed presidential bid four years ago. In addition to his TV show, Huckabee hosts a nationally syndicated radio program, gives paid speeches around the country and has even launched a series of animated videos for children on American history.

The talk show is the centerpiece of Huckabee's enterprises, which have made the one-time Baptist preacher from Hope, Ark., and 10-year governor a wealthy man with a $2.2 million beachfront home under construction in Florida. Huckabee, 55, and his wife moved their residency and voter registration to the state last year.

Rollins and other advisers have said Huckabee could enter the race with a frontrunner status he didn't have as a former governor fresh out of office in 2008. But another Huckabee run would bring renewed scrutiny over his support of some tax increases in Arkansas and his record on clemency -- including commuting the sentence of a man who later killed four Seattle-area police officers.
Most of us knew he wasn't running, but he enjoyed raising money and fooling people in believing in him. Take note GOPers, Tea Party... Half of these candidates are taking you for a ride and taking your money. Wake up!

The Iowa Renewal Project are attempting to restore the Religious Right in Politics

A new (fake) group of religious freaks hosted a big meeting in Iowa, in hopes to force religion back into the government.
Nearly 400 Iowa ministers and many of their spouses accepted, filling a ballroom here on March 24 and 25. Through an evening banquet and long sessions, they heard speakers deplore a secular assault on evangelical Christian verities like the sanctity of male-female marriage, the humanity of the unborn and the divine right to limited government.

The program, sponsored by a temporary entity called the Iowa Renewal Project, featured several superstars of the Christian right as well as four possible Republican contenders for president. It was the latest of dozens of free, two-day conventions in at least 14 states over the past several years, usually with Mr. Huckabee listed as a co-sponsor, that have been attended by nearly 10,000 pastors who have spread the word in their churches and communities.

These meetings are part of a largely quiet drive to revitalize the religious right by drawing evangelical pastors and their flocks more deeply into politics — an effort given new energy by what conservative church leaders see as the ominous creep of laws allowing same-sex marriage and their sense that America is, literally, heading toward hell.
Even though the public's views of gay marriage is rapidly changing and more folks are moving away from religion, they still believe in forcing this mess to the country. It's very interesting how they have warped the simple teachings of the Bible into a hateful doctrine of discord. They are actively destroying the supposed messages of love and brotherhood. Is that example of God's love?
