Dr. Michael L. Brown Believes Gay Activism Played a role in Lawrence King's Murder

This idiot has the nerve to blame gay activists for Lawrence King's death. Michael thinks we are at fault for encouraging kids to come out and be themselves:
Of course, there is only one real killer, Brandon McInerney, just 14 years old at the time of shooting. He confessed to killing Larry in cold blood in full view of his classmates. But there are others who are complicit in Larry's terribly tragic death, and rather than point the finger at a "homophobic" society, they should point it at themselves. I'm speaking of course of gay activists, who have made Larry into a martyr for the cause of gay activism when, in reality, he was more a victim of gay activism.
 And...

At the tender age of 10, Larry announced to his friends that he was gay, and by the time he was in middle school (having been left back in first grade), he was openly, flamboyantly gay, sometimes coming to school in high heels and girl's makeup, occasionally even wearing a dress. And despite his slight frame (he was just over five feet tall), he was not shy about his sexuality, often flirting with straight guys, chasing them down the hallway in his stilettos, telling them he loved them, and spreading rumors that he was dating them. According to Brandon's attorneys, Larry sexually harassed their client, provoking the murder -- which under any circumstances, is a totally unjustifiable, horrific and deplorable act.

What does all this have to do with gay activism? And how can I claim that gay activists are complicit in Larry's death? To start, there are plenty of unstable children in our schools today, just like Larry and Brandon, yet gay activists are encouraging kids to come out at young and younger ages. This is downright irresponsible.
What will these loons think of next? Michael, you are a totally bastard for this belief.

Defense Rest, Without Brandon McInerney's Testimony

Defense rest yesterday in the Lawrence King murder trial and Brandon will not take the stand at all.

Here's the story:
McInerney, 17, chose not to take the stand and defend himself against the murder and hate crime charges he is facing for shooting Larry King, 15, in an Oxnard classroom in 2008. King was wearing effeminate clothes and telling friends he was gay.

"Obviously he is confident of the state of the evidence, as are we," his lawyer Scott Wippert said outside the courthouse. "There was no need."

The prosecution is now putting on a rebuttal case and closing arguments could be heard by the end of the week.

Among the last witnesses to testify for the defense on Monday was their hate crime expert, Randal Hecht, who said McInerney was not bothered by other gay students.

"Based on all the evidence you have reviewed and these statements, does it appear to you that Brandon had a bias toward Larry King just because he was gay?" Wippert asked.

"No," Hecht said. He previously testified that the shooting stemmed from the conflict the two were having.
But Ventura County District Attorney Maeve Fox asked Hecht if he reviewed a number of things when considering his opinion, including testimony from McInerney's friend — who McInerney told he was going to shoot King — or from McInerney's girlfriend, who said McInerney told her he was going to beat up a gay kid at school.
Closing arguments could start this week.

Brandon McInerney's Psychologist: "He told me he just snapped."

The Lawrence King murder trial is revealing a lot about Brandon. Douglas Hoagland, Brandon's psychologist, spend 17 hours evaluating him and learned some interesting info:
"I think it unleashed all that rage that had been stored up and it grew and grew and it did not go away," Hoagland said. "He told me he just snapped."

When he snapped on Feb. 12, 2008, he shot his gay classmate King, 15, twice in the back of the head in his Oxnard classroom. McInerney was 14 at the time of the shooting but is now 17 and on trial for murder and a hate crime.

Hoagland's testimony came as the defense nears the end of its case in which they argued McInerney's abusive childhood in conjunction with sexual harassment by King pushed him to the shooting.
Someone enters a state of dissociation after they can't escape their normal life. They are so overwhelmed they turn inside mentally and are not completely aware of their actions, Hoagland said.
Hoagland spent the morning detailing how the mental and physical abuse that McInerney suffered at the hands of his drunk, drug-abusing father affected him.

Trial of the Murdered Gay Teen takes its toll on the Families

The Lawrence King murder trial is taking its toll on everyone. Last week, the trial hit a breaking point with the families:
Former English teacher Dawn Boldrin on Thursday broke down in tears as she described how she had given a strapless formal gown to King, 15, who identified himself as gay and had been showing up at his Oxnard school in women's spike-heeled boots and makeup.

As Boldrin testified, the defense displayed a large photograph of King, taken by Boldrin, holding up the lime-green chiffon gown and smiling broadly. McInerney's mother, Kendra McInerney, and Boldrin's 13-year-old daughter, sitting in the courtroom, also began sobbing.

An infuriated Greg King, father of Larry King, stomped out of the courtroom. He returned a short while later and rounded up the entire King family to leave the courthouse for the day. As the group walked past Boldrin's daughter and another relative, Larry's mother, Dawn King, whispered an expletive to them.

On Friday morning, Ventura County Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell ruled that was egregious enough to get Dawn King ejected from the courtroom for the rest of the trial. Outside the courtroom, Greg King explained that he became angry because he considered the women's response "crocodile tears."

"My son is dead and they're crying?" King said. "That's the woman who gave him a dress after complaining that he shouldn't be coming to school in makeup and boots!"
My heart goes out to the families.

The Trial of Brandon McInerney Begins

Opening statements starts today for Brandon McInerney's trial. He faces first-degree murder and a possible hate crime for killing 15-year-old Lawrence King.

LA Times reports:

Prosecutor Maeve Fox says she will outline a straightforward case in opening arguments set to begin Tuesday in a Chatsworth courtroom. The Oxnard teenager carefully planned and carried out the Feb. 12, 2008, execution of his eighth-grade classmate, she said. He brought a gun to school, positioned himself directly behind King during a morning computer class and fired twice into the back of the 15-year-old's head.

McInerney then dropped the gun and walked out the door in front of two dozen horrified classmates and a teacher, Fox says.

Prosecutors have added a hate-crime allegation, arguing that McInerney's actions were spurred in part by a hatred of gays, in line with his alleged neo-Nazi sympathies. If convicted, he faces 53 years to life.
This is going to be tough. I'm keep y'all posted as the trial jumps off.
