Rick Perry will Quit the Race Today

Jethro will be leaving the presidential race before the SC primaries. This was a long time coming. With the series of mess, gaffes and breakdowns, Perry could not get it together to move forward and effectively.

Remember, he was suppose to be the savior... Ha!

Rick 'Jethro' Perry will NOT go to South Carolina

Defeat is not cute and Perry is seriously realizing this. Last night, Perry said he will go home to re-assess his campaign and he's not going to South Carolina.
Rick Perry's "re-assessing" phase will apparently last through the remainder of the week.
After his disappointing fifth place finish in the Iowa caucuses, the Texas governor has scrapped his entire campaign schedule and will return to Austin to ponder whether to forge ahead with his bid.

"We have been told to hold until we hear from Austin," said a Perry source in South Carolina, where the candidate was preparing to launch an aggressive statewide bus tour on Wednesday. "It looks like he is not coming this week. He has definitely canceled his plans."
He just needs to quit, end of story.

Who's to Blame for Rick 'Jethro' Perry Major Campaign Fail?

Remember when Rick Perry was going to run the GOP campaign? The minute we heard that 'Jethro' was entering the GOP candidate race, it was suppose to wrapped up and sealed in his favor.

Well, that never happened; in fact, it was a mega fail. Now, Jethro's team is scrambling like eggs to get it together.

But who's the blame? Politico has some info on this drama:

Perry’s steep plunge from front-runner to butt of jokes was chiefly the result of his own embarrassing verbal stumbles, most notably his insta-classic “oops” moment when he couldn’t recall the names of the cabinet departments he wants to eliminate.

Yet the view of the outsiders who took over Perry’s campaign is that the candidate was set up for failure by an insular group led by Dave Carney, the governor’s longtime political guru, which thought they could run a presidential campaign like a larger version of a gubernatorial race and didn’t take the basic steps needed to professionalize the operation until the candidate already was sinking.

“They put the campaign together like all the other Perry campaigns: raise a bunch of money, don’t worry about the [media coverage], don’t worry about debates and buy the race on TV,” said a top Perry official. “You have to be a total rube to think a race for president is the same as a race for governor.”

Because Perry had never been defeated in his career in state politics — and came from behind to crush Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in last year’s Texas gubernatorial primary — his Texas operation projected an air of supreme self-assurance and indifference to outside advice.
It sounds like a bunch egos crashed and burned, leaving Jethro in the dust. I guess they realized what worked in Texas doesn't work in the real world.

Hey Texas, You pay for 'Jethro' Perry's High Priced Security

Texas Taxpayers, Rick 'Jethro' Perry is taking y'all for a ride... For real. He is using taxpayers' money to fund the high life for his security.
His state-provided security guards were flying pretty high, too, spending more than $32,000 in taxpayer money for travel and lodging in San Francisco, $4,400 to dine near the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum in Simi Valley, and another $6,400 for plane tickets to San Diego, records show.
In the ensuing weeks, Perry would see his political fortunes plummet, falling to as low as 6 percent in public opinion polls from a high of 32 percent. But the bills for his omnipresent security detail continue, costing taxpayers as much as $400,000 a month.

Aside from President Obama, Perry — the only sitting governor in the 2012 race — has the largest security contingent, and apparently the only one on the Republican side financed by taxpayers.
Weeks before he officially announced his presidential bid, Perry said it was appropriate for the Texas Department of Public Safety to pay for his security and called any criticism of his government-provided protection a “diversion.” He also said that Texans would benefit from his travels.
Alright Texans, I would love to hear how this is benefiting you all.

Perry and Gingrich fail to Qualify for Virginia's Republican Primary

Big setbacks for Jethro and Newt the Hut; poor planning will keep them off the Virgina ballot.
The Republican Party of Virginia announced late Friday and early Saturday that Gingrich and Perry fell short of the 10,000 signatures of registered voters required for a candidate's name to be on the ballot.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Rep. Ron Paul met the threshold and will be on the ballot.

Failure to compete in Virginia, which is among the "Super Tuesday" primaries, would deal a huge blow to any contender who had not locked up the nomination by then.

State GOP spokesman Garren Shipley said volunteers spent Friday validating petitions that the four candidates submitted by the Thursday 5 p.m. deadline to the State Board of Elections.
"After verification, RPV has determined that Newt Gingrich did not submit required 10k signatures and has not qualified for the VA primary," the Republican Party of Virginia announced early Saturday via Twitter.
Aw, too bad, idiots

A Teen Confronts Rick 'Jethro' Perry over Gays in the Military

From ABC News
After her confrontation with Perry at the Winnishiek Hotel, Green told reporters she disagrees with the governor’s position on the issue.

“I’m openly bisexual and I don’t want to be told that if I wanted to serve in the military that I couldn’t, and I just think that policy is completely ridiculous that he thinks that. I just don’t like it,” Green said. “Him or nobody should be able to tell somebody who they can or can’t love.”

Perry was unaware that she was bisexual when she approached him with the question.
Rebecka’s father, Todd Green, a Democrat and professor of religion at Luther College, expressed disappointment in Perry’s response to his daughter.

“For a group of women and men to fight for the freedom to run for president, to gather here peacefully and assemble here peacefully in a place like Decorah, but not for them to have the freedom to be open about who they are but he can be free to be open about who he is, to me it seems to be a major contradiction and very hypocritical,” Todd Green said.

Read all about Rick Perry's Gay Sexual Adventures

Well, maybe it's not that deep but Glen Maxey seems to think so. Maxey is a gay member of the Texas State Legislature and pusher Perry 'gay' past. Although, he's tried to put the story in the headline, he didn't succeed.

Now, he has an e-book that could bring drama in the troubled candidate's life.
In Head Figure Head: The Search for the Hidden Life of Rick Perry, which was published today, Maxey tells the story of a four-month investigation (conducted, oddly, mostly through Facebook messages and chats that he liberally reproduces) he collaborated on with an unnamed reporter. According to Maxey—who, while obviously a partisan, is as far as I can tell not a crank and served 12 years in the state legislature—he located two men who claimed to have had sex with Perry. One was a male prostitute who told associates that Perry had hired him three or four times a year for hotel parties with Perry and an aide. The other was a man who responded to a Craigslist ad allegedly posted by Perry. Along the way, there are dozens of other more tenuous second-hand reports, including one man linked to Perry who pointedly refused to deny the accusations.
 Here's a sample:

The whole story is that i have a ex friend who hired this kid years ago fro sex and they became friends. I was out at Rain [a gay club in Austin] with my friend and we ran into this hustler kid. He very matter of factly stated thathe had just been hired to spend the weekend at the Driskill with Perry and an assistant of Perrys. He was non chalant about it and said that it happened 3 or 4x a year and he gave some sexual details about Perry and the other guy. This was in the 2000s maybe 03.
Interesting to say the least.  If you want the book, go here

Did GOProud just outed Rick Perry's Strategist?

Well this is juicy... GOProud's Ken doll reportedly outed Rick Perry's pollster and strategist, Tony Fabrizio through Twitter

So who is Mr. Tony? Back2Stonewall has the 411:

Tony Fabrizio of Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates in addition to serving as pollster and strategist for Senator Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign has worked for more than a dozen GOP senators, more than 50 congressmens campaigns,  It was Fabrizio who destroyed Florida AG Bill McCollom for Rick Scott using the Arizona immigration enforcement law.
And Tony has worked for gay rights group as well. So if this is correct, we got another self-hating gay working for the crazy ass Right. I'm sure there is more to come of this story.

Interesting Quote: Rick Perry

“Just when you thought Barack Obama couldn’t get any more out of touch with America’s values, AP reports his administration wants to make foreign aid decisions based on gay rights.

This administration’s war on traditional American values must stop.

I have proposed a foreign aid budget that starts at zero. From that zero baseline, we will consider aid requests based solely on America’s national security interests. Promoting special rights for gays in foreign countries is not in America’s interests and not worth a dime of taxpayers’ money.

But there is a troubling trend here beyond the national security nonsense inherent in this silly idea. This is just the most recent example of an administration at war with people of faith in this country. Investing tax dollars promoting a lifestyle many Americas of faith find so deeply objectionable is wrong.

President Obama has again mistaken America’s tolerance for different lifestyles with an endorsement of those lifestyles. I will not make that mistake.”
Rick is hating on President Obama's stance on International LGBT issue.
