A Brooklyn Teen was left Blind in One Eye after an Anti-Gay Attack
At Roy H. Mann Junior High School in Bergen Beach, 14-year-old Kardin Ulysse was beaten by bullies so bad that he is blind in one eye.
Kardin has had two surgeries on his right eye since the beating in the school's cafeteria. Now, his parents are suing the city.
NY Daily News has more on the story:
Kardin, an eighth-grader, was set upon by a pair of seventh-graders who were calling him a “f-----g f----t,” a “p----,” a “transvestite” and “gay,” according to a Department of Education occurrence report. Those bullies need some serious discipline and this school needs to be investigated. A school should not be a war zone.
While one schoolmate pinned the victim’s arms, the other rained punches on Kardin’s face, head and neck.
Kardin broke away and the fight continued in the cafeteria until school safety officers and school aides finally intervened.
The boy’s family has retained lawyer Sanford Rubenstein, who will file a notice Tuesday to sue the city for $16 million for failing to properly supervise the students.
Rubenstein also called for the authorities to investigate whether the attack is a hate crime and upgrade the criminal charges to felonies. Because they’re minors, the two alleged bullies were charged with misdemeanors in Family Court.
The city’s Corporation Counsel did not immediately return a call for comment.

In Kansas: A Teacher wrote in Facebook that being Gay Is 'The Same As Murder'
Jack Conkling was compelled to put his hate on Facebook for some stupid reason. The Prairie Middle School teach went on this weird rant, saying all kinds of mess.
He said:
"All this talk in the news about gay marriage recently has finally driven me to write. Gay marriage is wrong because homosexuality is wrong. The Bible clearly states it is sin. Now I do not claim it to be a sin any worse than other sins. It ranks in God's eyes the same as murder, lying, stealing, or cheating. His standards are perfect and ALL have sinned and fallen short of His glory. Sin is sin and we all deserve hell. Only those who accept Christ as Lord and daily with the help of the Spirit do their best to turn from sin will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. There aren't multiple ways to get to Heaven. There is one. To many this may seem close minded and antagonistic, but it doesn't make it any less true. Folks I am willing to admit that my depravity is just as great as anyone else's, and without Christ I'd be destined for hell, if not for the undeserved grace of God. I'm not condemning gay marriage because I hate gay people. I am doing it because those who embrace it will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. And I desire that for no one."And the follow-up
"Gay marriage is wrong because homosexuality is wrong. The Bible clearly states it is sin."
He also wrote: "It ranks in God's eyes the same as murder, lying stealing, or cheating."The school should do something about this dude.
"I wrote what I wrote for my Facebook friends who understand my heart and my intent. I understand that there were some folks who didn't understand my heart, and while that's sad, it is what it is."

In Maine: The No Special Rights PAC presents the 'Sodomy Based Marriage' Pledge
Think Progress has the Maine haters' “Sodomy Based Marriage" pledge. This document is a hot ass mess and reads like it was pulled from the X-Men's God Loves, Man Kills.
Zack Ford highlights particular statements from this mess:
1. Go to the polls and vote NO on Sodomy Based Marriage in November.
3. Use the term “Sodomy Based Marriage” and avoid the deceptive terms “same sex or gay marriage.”
4. Inform my friends and neighbors that the term “same sex marriage” contains two contradictory terms, and is therefore, illogical, false, and absurd.
5. Marriage is a Covenant that is entered into between two people and is based on a difference in gender; and there can be no moral or legal right to a practice which defies logic, common sense, and the Natural Law itself.
9. Reaffirm the Christian Church’s teaching that a child must never be denied the right to have both a mother and a father. Oppose the hellish doctrine that parents of the same sex make better parents than parents of the opposite sex, an evil doctrine which is now being advanced by the homosexual rights movement.
11. Pray that God will deliver our State and Country from this attack by demonic force, and that marriage between man and woman will be restored to its rightful place of honor, to the glory of Almighty God.Really? TP has the document so you can read it. But y'all, this is sad. The haters are really pulling out the religious drama in this pledge.

Rick Perry signs the Hate Group's Marriage Pledge
Ricky just made a huge mistake. After hanging out at the Family Leader's bath house in Iowa, he decided to sign their anti-gay marriage pledge:
A few days after appearing at a Family Leader forum, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is the latest GOP presidential candidate to sign the group’s controversial marriage pledge.
The pledge advocates several issues, including the Defense of Marriage Act, personal fidelity to the signee’s spouse, appointment of “faithful constitutionalists” as judges, and reformation of anti-marriage elements in divorce, tax and welfare laws.Well, I guess he has nothing to lose at this point.
Family Leader head Bob Vander Plaats has said signing the pledge will be a prerequisite for the group’s endorsement, one coveted among candidates seeking to nab the evangelical vote.

Highlights From the Anti-Gay GOP Pledge "The Marriage Vow"
I finally got a chance to read over this caca created by the Hate Group, The Family Leader. It truly has some Foolishness topped with creamed Mess.
Here are some highlights from this document:
- Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President. WTF? So we were better as slaves?
- Earnest, bona fide legal advocacy for the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) at the federal and state levels.15 Steadfast embrace of a federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which protects the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman in all of the United States.
- Fierce defense of the First Amendment‟s rights of Religious Liberty and Freedom of Speech22, especially against the intolerance of any who would undermine law-abiding American citizens and institutions of faith and conscience for their adherence to, and defense of, faithful heterosexual monogamy.
- Social protections, especially for women and children, have been evaporating as we have collectively “debased the currency” of marriage. This debasement continues as a function of adultery; “quickie divorce;” physical and verbal spousal abuse; non-committal co-habitation; pervasive infidelity and “unwed cheating” among celebrities, sports figures and politicians; anti-scientific bias which holds, in complete absence of empirical proof, that non-heterosexual inclinations are genetically determined, irresistible and akin to innate traits like race, gender and eye color; as well as anti-scientific bias which holds, against all empirical evidence, that homosexual behavior in particular, and sexual promiscuity in general, optimizes individual or public health.
- Humane protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy – our next generation of American children – from human trafficking, sexual slavery, seduction into promiscuity, and all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion and other types of coercion or stolen innocence. So good bye X-Tube, Rockettube, It All Gay and XHamster
- Support for the enactment of safeguards for all married and unmarried U.S. Military and National Guard personnel, especially our combat troops, from inappropriate same-gender or opposite-gender sexual harassment, adultery or intrusively intimate commingling among attracteds (restrooms, showers, barracks, tents, etc.); plus prompt termination of military policymakers who would expose American wives and daughters to rape or sexual harassment, torture, enslavement or sexual leveraging by the enemy in forward combat roles. So those homosexuals are dangerous to the military, got it

Suspect in the Anthony Collao murder case, Bragged about the incident on Facebook
Arrests are being made due to the horrible death of Anthony Collao; one suspect in particular bragged about the murder on his Facebook! Here's more:
Calvin Pietri, 17, of Woodhaven, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with manslaughter in the weekend beatdown of Anthony Collao, 18.I tried to find Calvin's FB, but the statement(s) were removed. I'm hoping to see the statements for myself. The other suspects, as you can see, are kids... Just kids. What is really going on when our kids are acting out this way and possibly ruining their lives forever? This is a lot to take in.
Police first busted him for a hate crime, but prosecutors later said the bias enhancement was still under review. Pietri was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail after his arraignment Wednesday night.
The victim was chased from a birthday party in Woodhaven early Saturday. Police said the teen was stomped and beaten with a pipe. Collao, who hoped to one day work in the family ice cream business, died at Jamaica Hospital on Monday.
The other suspects - Alex Velez, 16, and Nolis Ogando, Christopher Lozada and Luis Tabales, all 17 - were arrested shortly after the incident and charged with manslaughter.

Wikileaks reveal that Gay Activist David Kato was Mocked during the UN Human Rights Meeting
Wikileaks released a lot of info on David Kato's speech back in 2009 United Nations meeting on human rights. According to the info, David was teased and laughed at during the anti-homosexual bill debate.
Murdered gay rights activist David Kato was mocked at a UN-backed debate on Uganda's anti-homosexuality bill, according to a US diplomat in Kampala in a leaked American embassy cable.
The diplomat said Kato, who was bludgeoned to death near his home in the capital, Kampala, last month, delivered a well-written speech against the bill, but his words were almost inaudible due to "his evident nervousness". Throughout his talk a member of the Ugandan Human Rights Commission "openly joked and snickered" with supporters of the bill, the diplomat claimed in the cable. Here's more info and the complete posts.
The "consultative meeting" in December 2009, organised with funding from the UN, aimed to discuss the bill, which would impose the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality" and life imprisonment for consenting adults who have gay sex.
In the cable, dated 24 December 2009, the diplomat claimed Ugandan politicians, including the author of the anti-homosexuality bill, David Bahati, had channelled anger at the country's socio-political failings into "violent hatred" of gay people.
Other confidential memos sent between Kampala and Washington in 2009-2010 and sent to WikiLeaks paint a picture of a worsening human rights climate in the runup to Ugandan elections on Friday . They chart Uganda's "chilling" descent from tolerance to violent homophobia and a deepening fear among gay activists, who claim they are being increasingly monitored and harassed.
The memos, classified as confidential, also reveal US diplomatic attempts to combat the draconian bill – which is at the parliamentary committee stage.
Under the heading Comment: Homophobic Demagogues, the diplomat reports in the Christmas Eve cable that Bahati, a born-again Christian MP from the ruling party, had become "further isolated" following "recent condemnations" by high-profile Pastor Rick Warren and other US-based individuals who are against the bill. However, it was clear he would not yield to international pressure.
Referring to Bahati, the diplomat said: "His homophobia … is blinding and incurable."

NAACP Denounces Anti-Gay Action in Uganda. WATCH the Press Conference
The NAACP came out against the mess besetting Uganda. Trans African Forum and the National Black Justice Coalition joined forces to tell Congress to stop all anti-gay legislation in Uganda.
Washington Blade has the story:
In a news conference on Capitol Hill, officials with Trans Africa Forum, the NAACP, the National Black Justice Coalition and black church leaders said a growing number of mainline U.S. civil rights groups were beginning to speak out against anti-LGBT persecution in Uganda.
The civil rights group leaders and Frank Mugisha, an official with Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), who also spoke at the news conference, said they were especially troubled that an atmosphere of hostility toward LGBT people in Uganda appears to have been “imported” by U.S. fundamentalist Christian organizations.
“Trans Africa is very concerned about the situation in Uganda and all over the continent of Africa, where we see homophobia on the rise,” said Nicole Lee, president of Trans Africa Forum. “And one of the ironic concerns, frankly, is that this homophobia is not home grown,” she said.
“We have found that this homophobia is imported from the United States and Europe. And we really want to make clear that black civil society organizations here in the United States will not stand for this.”
Lee and the other U.S. civil rights leaders participating in the news conference said they were prompted to take a more vocal stand on LGBT-related developments in Uganda following the Jan. 26 murder of Ugandan LGBT rights leader David Kato, who was found bludgeoned to death in his home near the capital city of Kampala.Hilary Shelton the NAACP’s executive vice president said that the anti-gay actions in Uganda is like the lynchings and “Jim Crow” policies of segregation and discrimination faced over 50 years ago.
This is a great step in the right direction. Nice to see NAACP tackle more international issues too.

Facebook and GLAAD are teaming together to stop Anti-Gay Bullying
After multiple reports of cyber bullying and anti-gay rants, Facebook and GLAAD are partnering up to prevent this foolishness from continuing.
Anti-gay bullying has been in the spotlight recently after the suicides of several gay teenagers, including Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi, garnered national attention. According to police, the 19-year-old jumped off the George Washington Bridge after his roommate secretly recorded him with another male student and distributed video online.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation said it reached out to Facebook last week after Internet bullies flooded a page set up to honor teens who recently killed themselves in response to anti-gay hate.
The page, set up by a Facebook user, asks supporters to wear purple next Wednesday in memory of the teenagers. Purple represents "spirit" in the rainbow flag that's the symbol of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. On Friday afternoon, most of the comments on the page were from supporters.
Facebook said that its policies prohibit hateful content and that it has systems in place to take down such posts as soon as possible. But the company also said it wants its users to be able to express unpopular opinions and as such must strike a careful balance between removing harmful content and letting people speak freely.
"Facebook has taken an important first step in making social media a place where anti-gay violence is not allowed," said Jarrett Barrios, the president of GLAAD.
