My Top 5 FAIL Moments in Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror in 2011

This year was good for geeks and BAAAD for geeks. We had some ugly setbacks and foolishness in our world. I'm share my top 5 horrible moments.

The Wonder Woman Pilot - For some reason, NBC thought they could take an iconic comic book character and hand her over to a writer with no idea on who WW is. The result? A horrible, HORRIBLE pilot for a possible series. For those who read me, know I was on this like sluts on cocks. And when I saw the pilot, I had to be talked back from the ledge. NBC and DC Comics should've been beaten for that pilot. Beaten with a salted barbwire whip.

The Buffy Reboot - Earlier this year somebody said in some studio, "Let's reboot Buffy, for no ass reason!" The minute that idea was spoke into existence, the geeks revolted. It was considered an abomination, blasphemy in the geek world. Every BTVS cast members was against it and no producer, director or writer wanted to touch it. However, one (semi-unknown) writer did and failed. Now the project is in limbo with S'ym and Magik. I speak for everybody by saying, "Thank GOD!"

Green Lantern - This movie was a fail for 3 reasons: 1. no plot 2. bad CGI and 3. Ryan Reynolds. I know, I know he's cute, but it wasn't enough. The movie went nowhere and failed to capture what most geeks love about the Green Lantern.

Scream 4 - This was an attempt to reboot the series, but all we got was a flawed script and a story that was blah. The movie takes place 10 years later in Woodsboro. Sidney returns and so does the killer or killers. Murders happen and once the truth was revealed, it just went downhill from there. It was good to see Neve Campbell as Sidney, but there was no reason for a fourth movie.

Sucker Punch - Great Hera, this movie was snap mess! It was a 12 year-old boy's wet dream and nightmare rolled into one big ole can of crap. The plot was... What can I say, there was no plot! It was about a girl who could dance, well, it was about female empowerment; no, it was about ninjas and monsters... See? It was a bouillabaisse ideas that just didn't come together. It was a complete and utter FAIL. And waste of time during my Hawaii vacation.

2011's Big Questions in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Geek World

There's a lot happening this year when it comes to the Sci-Fi, Comics and Fantasy world. Some things will be epic, some things will be a soggy mess.

But I have some questions about these big happenings in 2011?

Will we see A Cabin in the Woods in 2011?
Joss Whedon created a horror movie that was the talk of the town a couple of years ago. Well, last year the movie hit a snag. MGM, the studio behind the movie, was in big money trouble. Many fans got worry if the movie will see the light of day. However, there hope... MGM is out of a financial bind; so maybe, hopefully we will this movie.

Will X-Men: First Class fly or flop?
This movie will either give Fox credit or solidify reasons why they should NEVER do any comic projects again. So far, the movie sounds like bad mix of 90s X-Men stories. The X-Men timeline does not exist in this film and feels like a free-for-all. But who knows, it could save the X-Men film machine... But I highly doubt that.

Will the Buffy fans KILL the blasphemous Buffy remake?
I hope so. This movie doesn't seem to have much fan support and if we are powerful enough, this flick will die before it's even cast. It is a bad idea, they know it, we know it. However, we will how much info they will put out and how bad we (fans) will trash it.

Who is going to die in Fantastic Four?
Johnny is my pick.

What will be the breakout TV hit in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy world?
I think Misfits will get worldwide props. This show changes the game when it comes to the 'heroes', The characters are so right on and stories are really strong. You really care about them and feel their pain, happiness and silliness. I hope we (USA) do not try to remake this show. It's just fine as is. Now, it's not available in the US, but check it out on YouTube.

Who will rule the comic world, DC or Marvel?
I don't know.

Which Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie will dominate this year?
Transformers 3, Harry Potter, Thor, Captain America or Green Lantern? Who will be the biggest hit in 2011? I hope it's not Transformers 3.

Will Jean Grey come back?

And Torchwood the US Season deliver?
With Starz strongly backing this project and a cast of gifted actors, will this show truly shine? My fingers are crossed.

My Top Sci-Fi/Fantasy Songs from the 80s

I feel that the 80s were the best times for sci-fi and fantasy movies. Sure some of them were campy, but they were kind of pure at heart. It's nothing like they are now, all money driven and soulless.

But right now, I want to focus on the songs that helped sell these odd and crazy movies to my over-creative young mind. So let me show you my favorite songs from this fantastic genre.

BTW io9 beat me to this already! Oh well, still here's my list

Never Ending Story - Never Ending Story

Good Enough - Goonies

Underground- Labyrinth

The Touch- Transformers The Movie
