A New Horror Film is knocking people off their Feet... For Real

A new horror film called, "V/H/S"caused a stir at Sundance. In fact, folks can't stop talking about it! Some are saying it could be the next big thing if it gets a decent release.

MSNBC reports:

"V/H/S" co-writer Simon Barrett told msnbc.com that while he does think the frightening film content was a factor in the couple's illnesses, it certainly wasn't the only cause.

The movie, which was just aquired by Magnolia Pictures, is about a group of criminals who watch a variety of homemade VHS tapes containing supernatural moments. Barrett tells us that the male viewer became sick during the film's first segment and left the theater for the lobby, where he lost consciousness and collapsed to the floor.

"Without spoiling anything, (the film's first segment) ends with a particularly intense series of scenes that involve, among other things, an injury resulting in a compound fracture that is recorded from the first person perspective," Barrett told us. In short: A broken bone pokes through a character's skin, which might disturb even the healthiest viewer.
Oooh!  I so looking forward to this movie! I hope it doesn't let me down.

My Top 5 FAIL Moments in Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror in 2011

This year was good for geeks and BAAAD for geeks. We had some ugly setbacks and foolishness in our world. I'm share my top 5 horrible moments.

The Wonder Woman Pilot - For some reason, NBC thought they could take an iconic comic book character and hand her over to a writer with no idea on who WW is. The result? A horrible, HORRIBLE pilot for a possible series. For those who read me, know I was on this like sluts on cocks. And when I saw the pilot, I had to be talked back from the ledge. NBC and DC Comics should've been beaten for that pilot. Beaten with a salted barbwire whip.

The Buffy Reboot - Earlier this year somebody said in some studio, "Let's reboot Buffy, for no ass reason!" The minute that idea was spoke into existence, the geeks revolted. It was considered an abomination, blasphemy in the geek world. Every BTVS cast members was against it and no producer, director or writer wanted to touch it. However, one (semi-unknown) writer did and failed. Now the project is in limbo with S'ym and Magik. I speak for everybody by saying, "Thank GOD!"

Green Lantern - This movie was a fail for 3 reasons: 1. no plot 2. bad CGI and 3. Ryan Reynolds. I know, I know he's cute, but it wasn't enough. The movie went nowhere and failed to capture what most geeks love about the Green Lantern.

Scream 4 - This was an attempt to reboot the series, but all we got was a flawed script and a story that was blah. The movie takes place 10 years later in Woodsboro. Sidney returns and so does the killer or killers. Murders happen and once the truth was revealed, it just went downhill from there. It was good to see Neve Campbell as Sidney, but there was no reason for a fourth movie.

Sucker Punch - Great Hera, this movie was snap mess! It was a 12 year-old boy's wet dream and nightmare rolled into one big ole can of crap. The plot was... What can I say, there was no plot! It was about a girl who could dance, well, it was about female empowerment; no, it was about ninjas and monsters... See? It was a bouillabaisse ideas that just didn't come together. It was a complete and utter FAIL. And waste of time during my Hawaii vacation.

I Met the Master of Movie Serial Killers... Kane Hodder

I was very lucky the other night. Not only did I got to see Hatchet 2 (this was pulled out of the theaters because it had no rating), but I got to meet Kane Hodder!!

Now to those who don't know him, let me introduce Kane. He has played the major movie killers!
Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Victor Crowley and the B.T.K. killer. He has also acted in many movies over the years.

Here's a sample (NSFW)

And he was such a nice guy too. It was such a great moment.

My Top 5 Family Issues that leads to Serial Killing (in Movies)

According to the movies; if there's an affair, an accidental death or having a Celtic background in your family, chances are there's a series killer in your clan.
I'll give examples:

Scream series - The reason behind this madness started with mother abandoning her son

Friday the 13th - Death of a son led mother to murder

Halloween - A insane brother with a curse

Prom Night - A sister's death drove a brother to massacre

Sleepaway Camp - A sister's death causes a brother to become the sister and kill

I'm working on something... Scary

In between my Shadow Boy 2 script and blogging, I'm slowly working on a supernatural horror script, involving a child killer, a small group of young folks and an horrifying secret that will cover their town in blood.

I'm calling it,  Bedtime Story, and it will be very scary (I hope). I was inspired by an experience I had driving down a dark road in Phoenix, AZ. I remember seeing a skinny man, standing on the side of the road. He was smiling, hold a lumpy bag.

His smile haunted me for months, but he also gave me so much to work with. Thank you, creepy man!

I'm 9 pages in, and so far, there has been 4 deaths. I promise this won't be a complete gore fest, but I will definitely keep it frightening.

Once I get into a good groove, I may post some pages for your feedback.
